![]() Thankfully things have changed, and this dark and strange novel is now a piece of cake to find. Other than my boss, who said he’d read it in college circa 1965, it seemed like no one had seen or heard of it before. ![]() I had to know more about this book but alas, at that time, no information was available on the internet about it and Wikipedia had not yet been completely invented. It had these profoundly sensual and somewhat schizophrenic drawings throughout by a man named Wallace Smith that I’d never heard of, despite my being fairly well versed in obscure illustrators. It was insanely sexy…and incredibly spiteful and rude. Curious, I opened it up and didn’t put it back down until I had read it not once, but twice. “This Dark and wayward book is affectionately dedicated to my enemies…”Ī long time ago in a messy used bookstore far far away (where I was fortunate enough to work) I found this book abandoned atop a pile of pulp fiction and romance novels. ![]()
